She BuildsHER Vision & Pitch Competition Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the She BuildsHER Vision & Pitch Competition (the “Competition”) organized by She Builds LLC (“Organizer,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By registering for and/or participating in the Competition, you (“Participant,” “you,” or “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

1.1 Participants must meet the eligibility criteria outlined on the Competition’s official website and in the application form.
1.2 The Organizer reserves the right to verify eligibility at any stage and disqualify any Participant who does not meet the criteria or provides false information.

2. Registration & Payment

2.1 Registration is only complete when both the application form and full payment of the applicable registration fee ($50 for Tier 1, $100 for Tier 2) have been received.
2.2 All fees are non-refundable, regardless of withdrawal, disqualification, or inability to attend.
2.3 The Organizer will not consider incomplete applications.

3. Commitment to Participate

3.1 Participants understand and agree that the Competition requires their full commitment.
3.2 All pitch decks and supporting materials must be submitted via email to hello@shebuildsus.co no later than 72 hours before the scheduled pitch date — by 11:59 PM EST on September 4, 2025.
3.3 Late submissions may result in automatic disqualification or deduction of points at the Organizer’s discretion.

4. In-Person Attendance Requirement

4.1 The Competition will be held in person on September 7, 2025 in Beltsville, MD. The address will be provided to those who are selected for security purposes.
4.2 Participants are required to:

  • Arrive on time for their scheduled check-in.

  • Remain present until their pitch has been completed and they have been officially released by the Organizer.

    4.3 Failure to appear in person, late arrival, or leaving the venue before completion of your pitch may result in disqualification without refund.

5. Presentation Guidelines

5.1 All presentations must adhere to the time limits and format provided in advance by the Organizer.
5.2 Participants may not make last-minute changes to their pitch deck after the submission deadline without prior written approval.
5.3 The Organizer reserves the right to stop a presentation that is inappropriate, offensive, or otherwise violates these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Participants retain all intellectual property rights in their pitch materials.
6.2 By participating, Participants grant the Organizer a limited, royalty-free license to record, photograph, livestream, and share portions of their pitch for promotional and archival purposes.
6.3 The Organizer will not claim ownership of any business idea presented.

7. Prizes

7.1 Prizes, if any, will be awarded as described in the Competition materials and are non-transferable.
7.2 The Organizer reserves the right to modify, substitute, or withhold prizes at its sole discretion if unforeseen circumstances arise.

8. Code of Conduct

8.1 Participants must maintain professional and respectful behavior toward other contestants, judges, organizers, and attendees.
8.2 Harassment, discriminatory remarks, or disruptive conduct will result in immediate disqualification.

9. Disqualification

The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who:

  • Fails to meet eligibility requirements.

  • Misses deadlines.

  • Does not attend in person.

  • Engages in misconduct or violates these Terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

10.1 The Organizer will not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or expense incurred as a result of participation in the Competition.
10.2 Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and any other expenses related to attending the Competition.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting your application and payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in their entirety.
